Every day, students are to bring their German notebooks/binders to class. Each student has been issued a notebook dictionary to assist with writing assignments. Though students may leave their books in the classroom, their textbooks are also available for home use. |

Students have already mastered basic concepts such as saying the alphabet and counting in German. By the end of the second quarter, students should be able to talk about themselves, describe their family and friends, and tell about where they are from.
They will also learn about the cultures of Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, and countries with German-speaking immigrants. |

For much of the second quarter, German II students will be applying vocabulary and grammatical concepts to discuss everyday themes. Students should be able to give basic information about themselves and their friends; talk about their families, friends, where they are from. In addition to these basic concepts, students will begin speaking and writing in the past tense. I encourage students to practice German outside of my class as much as possible. |
